Imagine being given a gift

You think the gift one thing but it turns out to be something unexpected. When I think of Lou Montgomery I think of a wonderful gift he was given being able to go to fantastic school Boston College. Now the school has increased. It’s demand it’s notability it’s practices. But at the core, I believe it’s the gift of Betterment.

What do I mean by betterment? The ethos of betterment is the idea that a school like BC has the power to transport us to far-flung realms and ignite our imagination. A promise that would take him to New horizon, a sign of hope for tomorrow.

With the story, I believe an inflection  point has taken place. Where I was the benefits of this idea and dream. As Lou was successful seen in part of his family and test of character and will. Which help launched me and many others in the legacy of Lou. How do we pull up and push-up other others along the way? As I came to Boston College on a Football scholarship. I have achieved many athletes on the field, but most importantly to the field being a double Eagle. Meaning and blessed to get 2 degrees from this great Tier one research university and possibly a third!

The “Magis” is a Latin term meaning “more,” representing the Jesuit ideal of striving for excellence and “the more” in all aspects of life, not just achievement, but also for the greater glory of God. It is a restless desire for growth and improvement in one’s spiritual life, service to others, and intellectual pursuits, encouraging continuous self-improvement and holistic development.

I believe Lou’s legacy embodies this, as his colleague story doesn’t end on the highest of notes but existence on his  “Magis” story a legacy for many others! As I reflect and think about our journey into this life is with nothing and most of the time we leave with absolutely nothing. I think God put him in place to achieve something greater than worldly achievements.

I think he put a testimony in our hearts and minds. And because of that, I’m thankful for Lou Montgomery.
